Yvonne Barksdale Scogin

A Memorial Service celebrating the life of Yvonne Barksdale Scogin, 87, will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, October 23, 2022, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Drive, Bossier City, Louisiana. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service. Officiating the service will be Calvin Hubbard, pastor of Barksdale Baptist Church.

Yvonne was born on September 27, 1935, in Campti, Louisiana, to Travis Lawton Barksdale and Zora Wren Barksdale. She went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, in Bossier City, Louisiana.

Yvonne was a long-time member of Barksdale Baptist Church. She was an avid traveler who loved going anywhere at any time. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister who is going to be greatly missed.

Yvonne is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Donald Barksdale, James Barksdale and wife, Nell, Malcolm Barksdale, and Aaron Barksdale and wife, Esther; sisters, Myrtis Bamburg and husband, Bion, and Peggy Sheffield and husband, Gene; brother-in-law, Clyde Sanders; and nephews, Jerald Bamburg, and Robert Sanders. She is survived by her son, Jeffrey Scogin; granddaughters, Piper Scogin and Darby Scogin; sister, Margaret Sanders; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials may be made to Barksdale Baptist Church, 1714 Jimmie Davis Hwy, Bossier City, LA 71112
