Yvonne Nichols Oswalt

Funeral services celebrating the life of Yvonne Nichols Oswalt, age 82, will be held at 2.00 p.m. Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Dr., Bossier City, Louisiana. There will be a visitation from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Rose-Neath Cemetery, 5185 Swan Lake Spur, Bossier City, Louisiana. Officiating will be Pastor Terry Hughes. Yvonne was born on January 31, 1939 to Harvey and Evelyn Cupp in Cupps Crossing, Louisiana and passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2021 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Yvonne enjoyed traveling and served as a missionary in Panama and Brazil. She taught preschool in Bossier City for many years. Later, she became a Chaplain for hospice and hospitals in the Shreveport/Bossier area. She had a servant's heart but above all she loved her family. To know her was to love her, she will be deeply missed. Yvonne is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Oliver "Nick" Homer Nichols, Jr.; sister, Joyce Gray and husband, Jimmy and brother-in-law, Mickey Ganey. Her loving family left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Gayle Hallman and husband, Randy; grandchildren, Christopher Hallman and wife, Marisa, Bethany Fitzner and husband, Cory and Parker Williamson; great-grandchildren, Ivy Rose, Drew, Cash, Bowie and Bodie; brothers, Dwight Cupp and Glenda and Gary Cupp and wife, Sharon; sisters, Kay Shepherd and husband, Talmadge and Penny Ganey. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made out to Holly Ridge Assembly of God, 861 Holly Ridge Rd., Haynesville, LA 71038. Honoring Yvonne as pallbearers will be Craig Britt, Keith Gray, Rodney Gray and Tye Shepard. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Chris Hallman and Frank Rogers.
