Winton McGehee Shirah

Funeral services for Winton M. Shirah, 88, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 2^nd, 2019 at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel. Officiating will be Chaplain (MAJ) Jay Hudson US Army, Chaplain (COL) Fred Hudson Ret. US Army, (LTC) David Gholson Ret. US Army and Minister Joe Huffman. Visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday, January 2^nd, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home prior to the service. Internment will be at Forest Park West Cemetery following services.

Winton was born on January 20^th, 1930 to Edgar Winton Shirah and Joe Bennie Threadgill Shirah in Mobile, Alabama and passed away on December 29, 2018.

Winton was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Marion Shirah. Left to cherish his memories are his beloved wife, Janice Shirah; daughters, Hellen and husband Tom Hudson of Monroe, LA, Daphne and husband Fred Hudson of Keithville, LA, Lauri and husband Larry Dollar of Shreveport, LA; sisters, Beverly and husband Desmond Allies of Mission, TX, Dixie and husband Randy Lowery of Memphis, TN and Maybeth Shirah of Edinburg, TX; brother, Walter and wife Ronda of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren, Tommy and wife Melanie Hudson, Shelley and husband Dave Gholson, LeeAnn and husband Doug Sorey, Monica and husband Stephen Champagne, Jay and wife Erika Hudson, Layne and wife Brittany Dollar; great grandchildren, Josie Hudson, Charlie Hudson, Danny Hudson, Ben Hudson Kaylee and husband Michael Payne, Matthew Gholson, Hannah and husband Anthony Huici, Zachary Gholson, Parker Sorey, Cameron Champagne, Carson Champagne, Clara Champagne, Conley Champagne, Jailey Hudson, Tyler Hudson, Isaac Hudson and Lottie Dollar; great-great grandchildren, Amelia Payne, Christian Huici and Aubrey Faith Huici; brother-in-law, David and wife Becky Beezley of Monroe, LA and sister-in-law, Becky Peurifoy of Rockwall, TX.
