Winferd was born December 23, 1942, in Castor, Louisiana and entered rest April 24, 2022, in Ringgold, Louisiana. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Byers of Castor; sons, William Jason Byers of Castor and Daniel Jacob Byers of Delhi and his sister, Shirley Shaw of Doyline.
