SHREVEPORT, LA - Services for Wilma Virginia Smith will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 4, 2017 at Rose-Neath Marshall St. Chapel. Officiating will be Bro. Gene Nix pastor of Shreve City Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Springhill Cemetery, Springhill, LA. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Monday prior to service.
Wilma was born June 21, 1926 to Mary Moore and William C. Smith in Farmerville, LA and passed away in Shreveport on December 1, 2017. She was a resident of Shreveport since 1954. She was a member of Shreve City Baptist Church and a volunteer with the Chapel Service at V.A. Medical Center for 26 years. During the Korean War she served in the United States Marine Corps stationed in Washington D.C. Wilma retired from SWEPCO in 1988 with 33 years of service.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, James O. Smith and wife Lottie, infant brother, Walter Smith, nieces, Connie Edwards and Gracie Smith.
Survivors include niece, Debi Harrison and husband Danny of Springhill; nephews, Michael Smith and wife Sharon of Minden, Dale Smith of Emerson, AR; great nieces and nephews, Mandy Bliechroth, Jamie Naquin, Jessica Bihler, Damian Miller, Erik Miller, Myranda Terry, Darin Smith, Tiffany Horton, Crystal Young, Christina Wood, and 13 great-great-nieces and nephews.
Honoring Wilma as pallbearers will be Tom Cole, Gabe Downey, Edgar Haire, Shane Naquin, Jim Rabb and Dale Smith.
