Ringgold, La - Services for Willis L. Hawkins, 88, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 27, 2016 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall Street, Shreveport, LA. Officiating will be Rev. Jim Freeman. Interment will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery, St. Vincent Avenue, Shreveport, LA, with full Masonic Rites. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home . Willis was born March 10, 1928 in Chestnut, LA to Wiley A. and Mary Hasley Hawkins and passed away at home with his loving family by his side October 24, 2016 in Ringgold, LA. Willis was a Masons for over 50 years. He served as Master of Cedar Grove Lodge #403, was a member of Joppa Lodge#362, Macky Lodge in Ringgold, LA, member of the Masonic Relief Lodge where he served as past Master, and Conductor and Chaplain; he was past President of the Road Runners Degree Team, member of York Rite, and El Karubah Shrine Temple, and Koran American Legion. He retired as Yardmaster with Southern Pacific Railroad. Willis was an Elder with Broadmoor Presbyterian Church in Shreveport. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many; he will be missed by all that loved him. Willis was preceded in death by his parents, son, Tommy Hawkins, daughter, Deborah H. Evans, infant daughter, Catherine Hawkins, and grandson, Daniel Hornsby. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 67 years, Catherine Pickens Hawkins; daughter, Susan H. May; sisters, Maxine Dollar and Jerline Mathews and husband, John; step-sister, Lisa Sepulvado; granddaughter, Hollie Rougeau and husband, Troy; grandsons, T.J. Hawkins, Zachary May and wife, Heather, Justin May; three great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Jerry Deaton; and numerous nieces, and nephews. The family would like to give a special thanks to nieces, Pamela Sue and Pennie Dollar for all their love and dedication.
