Willie Jeanette Bohringer, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at the age of 88. She lived a life overflowing with love, laughter, and wisdom, gifts she gave freely and generously to everyone blessed to know her.
Born on December 16, 1936, in Hartford, Alabama, to Dewey Wilburn and Annie Lou Sellers, Jeanette carried the values of kindness, strength, and grace from her earliest days. She graduated from high school with pride and built a life rooted in devotion to her family, her faith, and her community. As a homemaker, she poured her heart into raising her three children, creating a home filled with warmth, humor, and unwavering care. Her love was steady, her advice always spot-on, and her laughter, pure joy.
Jeanette had a gentle spirit, but don’t let that fool you; she was a fierce competitor on the golf course. A proud member of the Shreveport Women’s Golf Association and the 2003 Barksdale Air Force Base Champion, she achieved an incredible three holes-in-one. Her swing was smooth, her focus sharp, and her humility unmatched. She didn’t need to brag; her game spoke volumes.
Her faith was the foundation of her life. She served faithfully on the Worship Committee Altar Guild at Fellowship United Methodist Church in Bossier City, LA, where her presence was a source of comfort, strength, and joy. Whether offering a listening ear, sharing her signature laugh, or simply showing up with love, Jeanette brought light to every space she entered.
She had a way of making people feel seen, heard, and cherished. Her sense of humor was magnetic, her advice wise and heartfelt, and her love for people, genuine and deep. She didn’t just brighten rooms, she lifted spirits. Her legacy lives on in every story told, every smile sparked by memory, and every heart she helped heal.
Jeanette’s life was a masterclass in grace, grit, and generosity. She leaves behind a family who adored her, friends who admired her, and a community that is forever better because she was part of it.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents, son, Dennis Harvey Hinson, and daughter, Julie Dorene Farar. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, William Bohringer; daughter, Karin Jannel Hill, and husband, Toliver; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, and numerous extended family and friends.
