William Hardy Penix

Funeral services for William Hardy Penix, 84, will be held Thursday, October 28, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Arcadia, Louisiana. Brother Spencer Lovett and Brother Taff Watts will officiate. Interment will follow at Hurricane Cemetery. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:00 a.m.- 10:00 a.m. Hardy was born in Claiborne Parish on August 12, 1937, to Claude and Ruby Penix. He passed away October 23, 2021, in Ruston, Louisiana. Hardy was retired from the Claiborne Parish Police Jury and was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Athens, Louisiana. He enjoyed camping, as well as doing woodworking in his shop. Hardy loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Claude William Penix and Ruby Almond Penix; grandchildren, Gunnar and Kylin Ann Penix; sister, Nita Sanders; niece, Linda Chandler and brother, Lavelle Penix. Hardy is survived by his wife Jo Penix; sons, Michael S. Penix and wife Leslie and Gregory F. Penix and wife Shannon; grandchildren, Brandon and wife Cambry, Chayce and fiancé Amanda, Jacob Lonon and Ragan Penix; great grandchildren, Brayden and Aubryauna Lily; sister, Dyne Woods; many nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends. Pallbearers will be Chayce Penix, Jeff Penix, Ricky Woods, Steve Woods, Jimmy Woods, Billy Brown, Billy Taylor and Gary Barnett. Honorary Pallbearer will be Brandon Penix.
