William Holmes

Arcadia - Graveside services for William L. Holmes will be held Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Oak Grove Cemetery in Simsboro, Louisiana. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Arcadia, Louisiana. William was born June 24, 1923 in Simsboro and entered into rest July 7, 2018 in Plain Dealing, Louisiana. He served his country for 14 years in the United States Army-Air Force and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for distinguished service in aerial combat. He was preceded in death by his parents William and Emma Holmes and 11 siblings. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Patsy Caston Holmes of Gibsland; sons, William C. Holmes and wife Tammy of Texas, Mark S. Holmes of Arkansas; daughters, Renee Boggs and husband Ray of Plain Dealing, Karen Newlen and husband Ken of Arcadia; grandchildren, Alex, Matthew, Luke, Christopher, Lindsey, Hunter, Joshua, and Jordan, and 15 great-grandchildren.
