Funeral services for William Henry Gwyn, 82, will be held on Sunday, August 29, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Centuries Memorial Park, 8801 Mansfield Rd., Shreveport. A visitation will be held Sunday, August 29, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. until start of the funeral at 1:00 p.m. Officiating the service will be Rev. John Korlaske. William was born September 2, 1938 to Ernest Lee Gwyn and Verna (Gwyn) Williams in Shreveport, Louisiana and entered his eternal home on Saturday, August 21, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Douglas Mains; and his wife, Bonnie, that he shared 53 years of marriage. Left to cherish his memories are his daughter, Kathy; son, Scott and wife, Julie; grandson, Brandon and wife, Kelly; granddaughter, Alexis; and great-grandsons, Corey and Zachary. William was a lifetime member of Ellerbe Road United Methodist Church which he served faithfully in many capacities. Some of his favorite hobbies were playing tennis, fishing and working out. He could always be counted on to help in any way needed by his family, friends and church. He will be greatly missed by everyone including his pet cat, Smokey, who loved to cuddle with him in his recliner. Honoring William as pallbearers will be Andy Mello, Dustin Hattaway, Bubba Hattaway, Kenny Campbell, Ritchie Meredith and Ronald Reynolds. The family would like to express special thanks to the nurses at Willis-Knighton North and Willis-Knighton Pierremont for all the excellent care and compassion given to William during his illness. \"He fought a good fight, his battle has been won.\"
