William T. “Bill” Fullerton, 87, left this life to spend eternity with The Heavenly Father on April 14, 2026, at his home in Shreveport, Louisiana, surrounded by love after a life well lived and deeply cherished.
Bill was born on November 2, 1938, in Hodge, Louisiana, to Ray and Minnie Fullerton. He attended Louisiana Tech University, where he met and later married Patricia Bazer, who became his beloved wife of sixty years. Together, they built a loving home in Shreveport, where they raised three beautiful daughters.
Bill was a man of remarkable strength, a tireless worker, a steadfast provider and a fierce protector. He lived his life with honesty and integrity, believing deeply in doing what was right—even when it wasn’t easy. His quiet resilience and strong sense of responsibility became the foundation his family stood on. He showed his love not just in words, but through action—through hard work, sacrifice, and an unwavering commitment to care for those he loved.
Professionally, Bill spent most of his career as the Public Works Director for Caddo Parish, where his leadership, expertise, and dedication left a lasting mark on the community he faithfully served. He was deeply respected in his field and remained active in numerous local and national professional organizations; always striving to learn, contribute, and elevate the work he valued so highly.
He could often be found in his shop piddling with something. He could do and fix just about anything. From a neighbor’s lawnmower to the pile of sticks Karla once brought which he turned into a beautiful desk. Bill had a remarkable ability to see what something could become and working tirelessly until it became just that. His hands, his patience, and his quiet determination turned the ordinary into something lasting, just as he did in the lives of those around him.
God also blessed him with a gift that brought joy to so many—a truly beautiful voice. Bill never missed an opportunity to share that gift, singing for anyone willing to listen. His voice could be heard from the choir loft to weddings, to ceremonies around the nation. Whether on a stage or in a living room, his unforgettable voice was enjoyed by all.
Bill’s legacy is not measured only in the years he lived, but in the lives he shaped, the things he built, and the love he so quietly gave. Though he will be deeply missed, there is comfort in knowing he is now whole, healed, and at peace.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Minnie Fullerton; his brother, Ray Fullerton, Jr.; his sister, Kitty Land; and his beloved wife, Patricia Fullerton.
He is survived by his three daughters, Karla Loftin and husband, Gary; Elizabeth Graves and husband, Nick; and Ashley Fullerton; his nine grandchildren, Taylor Simons and husband, Gary, Karli Cotty and husband, David, Allie Loftin, Will Phillips, Hunter Phillips, Adeline Phillips, John Scott Phillips, Gavin Dulle, and Logan Dulle; great-granddaughter Emmalynn Simons; brother, Mike Fullerton; brothers-in-law, G.V. Land and David Bazer, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude for the prayers, love, and support shown during this time. They are especially grateful to Kristen Holley with Stat Home Health and St. Joseph Hospice.
