William “Bill” Flannery, age 78, of Greenwood, Louisiana passed away during the morning of December 6, 2024, while being hospitalized. He was born July 23, 1946, in Clinton, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Jeanette Rentschler Flannery; and his brother, Joe.
Bill is survived by his wife of 39 years, Janice Flannery; step-daughters, Barb Engelkins and Doreen Phillips and their spouses all of Fulton, IL; granddaughter and grandson, Katelyn and Angus Engelkins; and great-granddaughters, Annabella Yarolem and Hazel Engelkens.
As a retired Carpenter Foreman he was often the “go to” person for friends who needed something repaired or built. He had a big, generous heart and could be found quite often helping his surrounding neighbors. He was famously known for his homemade fudge he made and gave away at Christmas. He was currently serving on the Civil Service Board at Caddo Parish Fire Station 3 in Greenwood, Louisiana.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
