A memorial service to celebrate the life of William “Bill” Earl Johnson, 78, will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Dr., Bossier City, Louisiana. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Officiating the service will be Reverend Andrew Brewster.
Bill was born on February 21, 1948, to William Earl Johnson and Mary Johnson in Dallas, Texas, and passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at his home in Haughton, Louisiana.
Bill was a simple man with a kind heart and a gentle, caring spirit. He loved his wife, Carolyn, deeply and carried that devotion with him throughout his life. He enjoyed thrift shopping and was known for being frugal in the best, most thoughtful ways. Bill loved to fish, cheer on the Dallas Cowboys, and spend quiet moments appreciating the world around him. He loved NASCAR, especially Jeff Gordon, and he also loved listening to Joe Diffie’s music. He loved the Lord, lived his faith sincerely, and was, at his core, just a genuinely nice man who made life better for the people who knew him. He will truly be missed.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny and Mary Johnson; sister, Carolyn, and stepson, Lawrence Banes. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Carolyn Johnson; children, Jimmy Johnson, Eddie Johnson, and wife, Donna, and Karen Salas and husband, Roel; stepchildren, Laura Morgan and husband, Wayne, Terry Banes and wife, Julie, Doug Banes and wife, Tina, and Tina Hesselrod and husband, Mike; sisters, Sherry, Dolores, and Debra, along with many cherished grandchildren and extended family and friends.
