William "Bill" Thomas Crosby, Sr.

Funeral services for William "Bill" Thomas Crosby, Sr., 86, will be held Monday, April 4, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. at Woodridge Baptist Church, 850 E. Bert Kouns Industrial Loop, Shreveport, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Gloster Trinity Cemetery in Gloster, Louisiana. A visitation will be held Monday, April 4, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the church prior to the service. Officiating the service will be Pastor Joe Waggener. Brother Bill, as he was known to everyone, was born on January 14, 1936 to Robert Lee Crosby and Nancy Elizabeth Crosby in Crosby, Mississippi and passed away on Wednesday, March 31, 2022 in Shreveport. Brother Bill was a resident of Shreveport. He was a Baptist Minister for 62 years working in Briar Hill, Mississippi, Gainesville, Florida, and the First Baptist Church of Magnolia, Mississippi and the First Baptist Church of Mansfield, Louisiana before retiring. He enjoyed playing tennis earlier in his life and in later years golf, was a huge LSU fan, and loved having coffee with other retired pastors to talk about pastoring and lifting up one another. He was a devoted and much loved pastor to the churches he served and spent his life ministering worldwide bringing many to Jesus Christ. Brother Bill was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Geraldine, Joyce and Bobby; and his wife, Shirley Crosby. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Christie Crosby, John Crosby and wife, Janene, and William Thomas Crosby, Jr.; grandchildren, Nicole Ortiz, Megan Anza, Claire Shelton, Kevin McFarland, Vangie Crosby, Haley Dorris, and Adam Crosby; great-grandchild, Asher Anza; and dear friend, Sheila Page. Honoring Brother Bill as pallbearers will be Adam Crosby, Kevin McFarland, Axel Anza, Mitchell Dorris, Nathan Shelton and Doug Boatwright. The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Roan Flenniken and Kevin McFarland for the excellent care and compassion given to Brother Bill at his time of need.
