No farewell words were spoken, no time to say goodbye. You were gone before we knew and only God knows why.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the loss of Wiley Grey Taylor, the beloved son of Alex and Jordan Miller. All too soon, Wiley gained his heavenly wings on September 28, 2024.
In his short 6 years, he brought so much joy and light into our lives. He had an energetic and fun personality, a passion for life, bright smile, kind heart, love for his family, and a love for God. Wiley was a kindergarten student enrolled at Mt. Olive Christian School in his home town of Athens, Louisiana. He loved his classmates and his teachers. Singing during chapel services, and reciting his Bible verses were some of his favorite things at school. He enjoyed playing summer baseball in Ruston and Minden leagues. He enjoyed fishing with his mawmaw Ann and his sissy Hendrix. He loved to spend time at the lake with his papa and nana. He liked riding his bike, playing with his toy guns and Nerf guns, digging in his dirt pile, and playing Fortnite with his big sister Hendrix. Wiley loved to eat candy, and thought zombies were pretty cool. He loved music, singing, and Jesus. He followed his papaw, Jackie Bates’s every step. He insisted on going with his Weezy, Joey Bates, everywhere she went. He was tough as nails. Wiley was loved by all-especially by his sister Hendrix and his daddy Alex. But above all, he was and always will be his momma’s baby boy.
Wiley is preceded in death by his great grandfather Steve Burton.
He is survived by his mother Jordan, his father Alex Miller, sister Ashtyn Hendrix Holly, grandmother Joey Bates, grandparents Chuck and Kristy Burton, great grandparents Jackie and Olivia Bates, and Ann Burton. Wiley is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
The love and joy that Wiley gave to his family will forever remain in their hearts; never to be forgotten but remembered fondly knowing that he is in the arms of his Savior and that he will be seen again.
Our family wishes to express our deepest appreciation for the outpouring of love and compassion that has been shown to us over the past 2 weeks. We would like to express special thanks to the EMTs, first responders, doctors, pastors, and kind strangers who have provided support and encouragement. We thank you for your continued support, prayers, and love. We are beyond grateful and humbled by the kindness you continue to show. Above all, we are thankful for a God who heals and provides love and comfort in times of grief and loss as only He can.
A memorial service for Wiley will be held at a date to be announced later. We would like nothing more than for all of you who have shown so much love and support during this difficult time to be a part of Wiley’s service.
Service will be held at a future date
