Wilburn Jack stevens

Vivian, LA. - Memorial services celebrating the life of Wilburn Jack Stevens, age 76 will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church, Vivian, LA. Officiating will be Rev. Bill Treadway, pastor of the church.

Jack was born in Shreveport, LA on May 10, 1940 to Alexander Gaines Stevens and Gladys Irene Bartlett Stevens and passed away on October 11, 2016 at his residence. He worked as a construction electrician.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Charles Stevens, Huey Stevens, Frank Stevens, Mark Stevens, Gaines (Demp) Stevens, Earl Stevens, Hazel Camp and Kathleen Perkins and son-in-law, Jerry Porterfield. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Stevens; son, Jeffery Stevens and wife, Patricia; daughter, Janet Porterfield. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Joshua Stevens and wife, Abby, Johnathon Stevens, Matthew Strickland, Tim Porterfield, Greg Cox, Chelsea Porterfield and Whitney Coleman; great grandchildren. Adalene Stevens, Jacob Stevens, Kayley Stevens, and Crystal Stevens; siblings, James Stevens, Frances McDow and husband, Roy, Barbara Dempsey and Betty Tackett.

In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested that donations be made to Mt. Gilead Baptist Church, Vivian, LA or to charity of donor's choice.
