Waymon Terrel Haire

PELICAN, LA--Waymon Terrel Haire, 83, passed away on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at University Health in Shreveport. He was the husband of Bobbie Nell Hinkie Haire. They were married 61 years ago on February 23, 1957. He was born February 21, 1935 in Wallace community and was the son of Truman and Hattie Haire. Waymon joined the United States Air Force on June 21, 1953 and served his country faithfully 20 years. He then went to work for the Air Force in a Civil Service capacity for 24 years. He loved his country but more than that he loved the Lord. His faith displayed a true servant's heart. If someone needed something fixed, or a ride somewhere, or anything done, he was there. If the church, or the nearby Christian camp needed some kind of help, you can bet Waymon was there putting in new light fixtures, repairing the air conditioner, cutting the lawn, or any of the hundreds of little things he did on a regular basis. He was one who wanted to be in the background and never desired praise for his work. He passed from this life to the next "being a doer of the word". He was preceded in death by his parents Truman and Hattie Haire, his brother Valery Haire, and his sister Mary Ann Hinds. In addition to his wife, Bobbie Nell, Waymon is survived by his two sons, Barry D. Haire and wife Penny of Bossier City, and Mark A. Haire and his wife Cindy of Wallace Community; three grandsons, Lance E. Haire and wife Savannah, Ethan P. Haire and wife Madi, and Aaron K. Haire; three great grandchildren, Adam Haire, Harper Haire and Zelda Haire; one brother Jack Haire and wife Aubyn, of Texarkana, TX, and one sister, Annette Perrin of Wallace Community; and a host of extended family and friends. Visitation will be held Rose Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield, Louisiana Sunday, July 29, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. His life celebration service will be held at Wallace Baptist Church, 5605, Hwy 177, Pelican LA Monday, July 30, at 10:00a.m. Graveside services will follow at Wallace Cemetery. The Barksdale Air Force Base Honor guard will provide military honors at graveside. The family would like to extend a special thank you for the care provided over the years by Dr. Jonathan Davis, Dr. Kennedy Lim, and Dr. James Noble. Also, to the physicians and nurses and supporting staff of University Health ER, SICU and Neurosurgery for the compassionate care and attention. Expressions of sympathy may be made to: Wallace Baptist Church, or Wallace Cemetery Association 5786 Hwy 177 Pelican, LA 71063 or Gideon's International.
