Funeral services will be held at Rose-Neath Funeral Home for Mrs. Wanda Lout, age 77, who passed away on Monday July 10th 2023. Interment will be at Arlington Cemetery in Homer, Louisiana. Visitation will be Friday, July 14, 2023, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Homer from 9:00am to 10:00am with a grave side service to follow at 10:30am conducted by Rev. Steve Fowler.

Mrs. Wanda Gale Hudson Lout was born June 22, 1946, in Alexandria, Louisiana. She entered into rest on July 10, 2023, in Homer Louisiana.

Wanda Lout was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother as well as a giver of her time to family who needed extra care.

Wanda better known as Mom or Grandma Wanda, was born on her fathers 21st birthday and always shared a special relationship with him as he was also born on the same day.

She had a special gift with taking care of others and took care in teaching and helping children with disabilities in her career, and found comfort in taking care of her father, grandparents, and husband during their struggles with aging. During her teaching career she resided in Round Rock Texas with her family and enjoyed painting (watercolor and acrylic). She enjoyed cooking and made a great venison lasagna.

Wanda had such a long battle with pain as she battled Parkinson’s disease for over 10 years. However, she was blessed to have had fine ladies taking care of her.

Wanda loved arts, crafts, painting, cooking and music. Dolls and butterflies always made her smile. She never met a stranger and always had a kind word for others. Christ played a strong role in her life and she had devout beliefs that she followed in her daily life.

Mom’s favorite verses include: “A day hemmed in by prayer is less likely to unravel” and “May our hearts always be young, and our dreams live forever.” These verses are the center of her core.

She is preceded in death by her Husband and love of her life Jan Oren Lout, Mother Jewell Pendarvis Hudson and Father James Maloie Hudson.

She is survived by her Son James Peyton Lout (of Austin, Texas) and Daughter-in-Law Heather Ann, Grandchildren Lucas Alexander and Hannah Alexis. Daughter Laura Denise Palacios (of Kingston Springs, Tennessee) and grandchildren Emily, Julia, Joseph and Lily.

Brother Michael Hudson and his wife Debra (of Gulf Shores Alabama) and nieces Theresa, Kimberly, and Catherine.

Wanda Lout’s family would like to express their gratitude to Donita Vincent, Carolyn Robertson, Seth, Monica and Ashley of Bristol Hospice of Homer for their support and excellent care as well as their generosity of time. Other individuals who also played a special and loving role in Wanda’s life were her caregivers that she had for many years. These ladies had a special bond with mom and built a loving relationship with her over 10 years and they are as follows: Audrey Cooper, Jerrie Kelley, Lisa Moore, and Dorothy Mitchell.

Honorary Pallbearers will be James Lout, Lucas Lout, Michael Hudson.

Flowers Or in Lieu of Flowers honoring Mrs. Wanda Lout, her family suggests memorials be made to Bristol Hospice and or The Michael J Fox Parkinson’s foundation in her memory.
