Graveside services for Wanda Juanita Dortch Ballard, 88, will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at Hasley Cemetery in West Monroe, LA. Rev. Joe Donekay, Pastor of Summer Grove United Methodist Church will be officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 14, 2021, 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Drive, Shreveport. Juanita was born October 27, 1932, in West Monroe, LA. She was the daughter of Homer and Lucile Dortch. She passed away Sunday, July 11, 2021, at Colonial Oaks in Bossier. She was preceded in death by her husband, Parker Ballard; her parents; brothers: Herbert Dortch, Herschell Dortch and James "Dub" Dortch; and her granddaughter, Sarah Skelton. Juanita graduated from Northwestern State University. She retired after a 32-year career in nursing. She was a member of Summer Grove United Methodist Church. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Debbie Bates (Bill), Patti Skelton (Joe), and Stephen Ballard (Heather); close family friend, Candi Bagley; grandchildren, Britt Beason, Stephanie Beason (Josh), Jennifer Beason, Eleanor Byers (Jonathan), Eulora Skelton, Ashlyn Ballard, and Emerson Ballard; great grandchildren, Avery Phillips, Jude Phillips and Sarah Byers. Pallbearers will be Britt Beason, Jennifer Beason, Josh Phillips, Jude Phillips, Jonathan Byers, and Waylon Bates. The Ballard family wants to thank Dr. James Jackson and staff, Juanita's caregivers Pat Jackson and Joanne Washington, and special personal caregiver Monica Shepheard.
