SHREVEPORT, LA - Funeral services celebrating the life of Wanda Leah Fletcher Copeland, 90, will be held Saturday, July 12, 2014, at 3:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Marshall Street Chapel, Shreveport, LA. Officiating will be Rev. Donnie Vercher, Associate Pastor of Rose Park Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Forest Park Cemetery, St. Vincent Avenue. The family will receive visitors prior to the service at 1:00 p.m. until the service.

Wanda was born in Winnfield, LA and died in Arnaudville, LA. She and her husband, Leonard, owned and operated Caddo Radiator Works and later The Copeland Company from 1945 until their retirement in 1996. The couple was married for 63 years prior to Leonard's death in 2005. Wanda and Leonard were long term residents of Shreveport and faithful members of Queensboro, Southside, Lakeshore and Ford Park Baptist Churches through the years.

Wanda was a strong person and believed in using her God-given talents to do her very best in her many roles in life: Devoted Christian, daughter, sister, wife and mother; Determined high school scholar and athlete; Expert homemaker and cook; Customer Oriented business owner/operator; Proud, Loving grandmother and great-grandmother.

She is preceded in death by her parents Richard and Minnie Fletcher, husband Lenard Copeland, brother R.C. Fletcher, sister Olga Boyette, daughter Carolyn Barber and great-grandson TJ Loretta. She is survived by a very special sister-in-law, Marcella Andrus; son, Jack Copeland and wife, Denese; son, Carold Copeland and wife, Carolyn. She is also survived by grandchildren; Drs.Trey and Lori Rosenthal, Paul and Susan Copeland, Leah Copeland, Jim and Ashley Bruning and Matthew Copeland and great-grandchildren; Benjamin, Hadley, Davis, Josh, Katie, Jacob and Tristyn.

Honoring Wanda as pallbearers will be Kit and Kevin Gamble, Hank Adams, Paul and Matthew Copeland and Kenny Martin.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Gary Mitchell, Jim Nallin, Ronnie Payne and Rev. Buster Page.

The family would like to offer their thanks and appreciation to the management and dedicated staff of the J Michael Morrow Memorial nursing home in Arnaudville, Louisiana for their superior care of Wanda over the last 3 years, as her health was failing. Also, a very special thanks to Ms. Anna Martin for the Christian kindness and friendship she provided Wanda and the family.

The family requests memorial donations, in lieu of flowers, be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Shriner's Hospital for Children, or the charity of donor's choice.
