SHREVEPORT, LA - One of the world's best listeners, Vivian Baker Murov, passed away on November 14, 2017. Born in Evansville, Indiana in 1924, Vivian Baker was raised in Ft. Worth, Texas. She married Joseph M. Murov in 1948. They had three children, Ellis B. Murov, Barry A. Murov and Marilyn B. Murov.
Mrs. Murov served as President of the local Hadassah chapter and was a leader of the Women's Division of the North Louisiana Jewish Federation. She also taught Religious School at B'nai Zion Congregation and volunteered at Shriner's Hospital.
More importantly, Vivian demonstrated daily ordinary virtues, such as modesty, politeness and respect, as well as an interest in others.
Preceded in death by Joseph M. Murov and her grandson, Eli J. Murov, Mrs. Murov is survived by Ellis, Barry and Marilyn ("Mimi"), as well as their spouses, Beth Rosen Murov, Hedy Ehrlich, and Tom Brownold. She is also survived by her sister, Ruth Feder, and her grandchildren and step-grandchildren, Isaac Murov, Jonah Murov, Nina Murov, Caroline Frilot Crosby and Maitland Frilot.
There will be a memorial service on Friday, November 17, 2017 at B'nai Zion Congregation, 245 Southfield Road, at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be private. Rabbi Dr. Jana L. De Benedetti will officiate.
The family would like to thank Dr. Bourne, Dr. Lyons, Dr. Zweig, and the staff and caregivers from Montclair Park Assisted Living, Home Instead, and Amedisys Hospice.
