Vivian worked for Mansfield Bank & Trust/Community Bank of Louisiana in Mansfield for 40+ years beginning Dec 6, 1976, where MANY lifelong friendships were formed and continued long after her retirement in 2017.
To Vivian, there was no better time than time spent with family and friends. Her FAMILY was truly everything to her. She loved to cook and tend to her flowers. She’s been known to call a few of us to see “what sounds good for supper” -which always led to a conversation of how to concoct the BEST dishes- or give tips on ways to keep our plants alive.
She had immaculate taste in decorating and clothing- and didn’t mind spending (Uncle David’s) money on the things she loved.
She was genuine and solid. She was a thinker and had keen intuition. A rock we could ALL lean on. She offered advice - whether you wanted it or not sometimes… But- rest assured, whatever she told you, she’d thought on for a while, and it came from a place of love. She was a guide and mentor to many, but her FAMILY was her top priority.
She spoke often and openly about her faith in God and without a doubt, knew that her strength came from the Lord. She fought a long, hard, courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer- a true testament to her faith. We take great comfort in knowing that she was welcomed into Heaven by our Lord and Savior and by so many loved ones who have gone before.
The family would like to thank Dr. Kirtan Koticha and staff for their loving care during her treatment as a patient. There are no words to adequately express the gratitude for Mandi Nash for her support, guidance, love and help during the whole journey- we absolutely couldn’t have done it without you!
Honoring her as pallbearers will be: Glenn Wayne Kelly, Chad Deas, Marvin Huey, Brian Averitt, Trevor Heyen, Ethan Hornsby, Tyler Hornsby and Blaine Hodges.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: William E. (B.D.) Dorroh and former and current employees of Community Bank of La.
