Beloved Member of Oxford Community Dies at 90 years of Age
Marcella Virginia \"Chena\" Rambin Robbins passed away at 11:10 pm on Friday November 1, 2019, All Saints Day. She was born September 26, 1929 to Amos and Lucille Rambin. She was one of 11 siblings raised during the Great Depression and WWII, events that shaped her as well as our great country.
Her parents taught her that unwavering faith, unconditional love and unfailing hope would take her through all seasons of life and Chena was the perfect example of these virtues to not only her parents and siblings, husband of 56 years Marvin Robbins, and their 10 children, 21 grandchildren, and 22 great grandchildren, but also to innumerable aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Everyone who ever met Chena found in her a wellspring of love, comfort, and acceptance, regardless of race, creed or economic status. She once said, \"This family never throws anyone away. We keep each other...always\".
Chena is preceded in death by her parents, 6 brothers, 1 sister, husband Marvin, daughter in law, Cheryl Robbins, grandson, Dylan Roy, granddaughter, Amy Deramus, grandson, John Cailin Moore and recently her son John Robbins.
She is survived by two brothers, Stanley Rambin and wife Anne, and Danny Rambin and wife Ramona, one sister Margie Stites, her children, Cecilia Deramus, Andrew Robbins, Roseanne Robbins, Gay Blackmon, Daymon Robbins, Theresa Robbins, Cathy Roy, Laura Simmons and husband Bryan, and Belinda Moore, as well as her 18 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
Serving Chena as pallbearers are Thomas Zimmerman, Robert Deramus, Justin Roy, Christopher McKinnon, Lucas Roy, Noah Robbins, Zachary Moore and Keith Austin. Honorary pallbearer will be Jude Robbins. Funeral services were held at Rose Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield LA on Tuesday November 5, 2019 followed by burial at Oxford Cemetery.
