Virginia "Jenny" Dortch

Virginia “Jenny” Dortch, 91, was born April 28, 1934, in Naborton, Louisiana and passed away peacefully on January 2, 2026.

She is survived by her son, Francis “Mike” Dortch and wife Rita; daughter, Sheila Gillilard and husband Lee; grandchildren, Shea Mills, Michael Dortch and wife, Tiffany, Abbie Cates and husband, Steven “Boomer”; and great grandchildren, Lily and Olivia Tolar, Christian and Reagan Dortch, and Roman Cates.

Jenny was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Hershell Dortch; parents, Zonnie and Leidie Smith; sister Esther “Sister” Leysath and husband, Louis “Speedy”; and brother, Edward “Buddy” Smith.

Graveside service celebrating the life of Jenny will be held at 12:00 p.m., Monday, January 12, 2026, at Allen Cemetery, Mansfield, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Steven “Boomer” Cates.
