With heartfelt sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved Grannie, Verna Lee Rutherford.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate her life on Sunday, July 19, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Rose Neath Funeral Home, 9891 Texas Hwy, Many, Louisiana. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until time of service. Interment to follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery, 5049 Hwy 118, Florien, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Brother Joey Remedies.
Grannie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was known for her kind heart, gentle spirit, unwavering faith, and unconditional love for her family. She found joy in bringing people together, sharing stories, preparing meals, and creating lasting memories with those she loved.
Verna was born on April 5, 1932 to George and Effie Manasco Bell in Sabine Parish, Louisiana and departed this life on Wednesday, July 15, 2026 at the age of 94.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie A. Rutherford; parents George and Effie Bell; sister, Pearl Sanford; and brothers Woodrow Bell, Armond Bell, and Arthur Bell.
She is survived by her sons, Terry Rutherford and wife Sharon, of Florien, Louisiana and Victor Rutherford of Florien, Louisiana; grandchildren Ryan Rutherford and wife Shelly, of Florien, Louisiana, Erin Rutherford of The Woodlands, Texas; Peyton Rutherford and wife, Lauren of Noble, Louisiana, and Allie Saenz of Lufkin, Texas; great-grandchildren, RyLeigh Duhon and husband, Hayden, Tate Rutherford, and Gracie Rutherford all of Florien, Louisiana, Harper, Berklee and Wyatt Rutherford of Noble, Louisiana; Hayden and Mason of Lufkin, Texas; great-great grandchildren Baylor Kate Duhon of Florien, Louisiana and Beckett Cole Duhon scheduled to arrive October 2026; and dear friends, Shirley Cox, Jessica Miller, and Patsy Robertson all of Florien, Louisiana.
Honoring Verna as pallbearers will be Ryan Rutherford , Peyton Rutherford, Tate Rutherford, Hayden Duhon, Paul Remedies, and Jeff Benevage.
Grannie will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her love, strength, wisdom, and the countless lives she touched. Her legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
