Verna Mae Hall

Verna Mae was born on October 1, 1933 to Louise O. Moore and Vernon Moore. Verna was the first born of their 4 children. She was 86 when she left this world to meet our Lord in the early hours of this past Sunday morning. Verna grew up in Houston, Texas attending Jeff Davis High School. She later was married to Conrad Meadows for 30 years and they lived in Northwest Houston during that time. After their divorce, several years later she reconnected with a longtime friend that called to let her know he had lost his spouse in recent years. That friend was Alton Hall from Logansport, Louisiana. They dated long distance for several months but then decided to get married in March of 1992. Alton then moved her from Houston to Logansport, Louisiana where they had 10 joyful years together and were able to be near his siblings and family where they all lovingly checked-in on each other daily to make sure everyone was doing well or needed anything. Alton passed away in June, 2002. Verna never had children of her own but enjoyed spending time with her many nieces and nephews and Alton's children, grandchildren, and his nieces and nephews. She loved to square dance in her younger years, she enjoyed a variety of arts, crafts, painting, making pottery, traveling, fishing and photography. She was also a very diligent and hard worker on every project or job she endeavored. She was predeceased by her parents and husband, Alton Hall; her middle sister, JoAnne Moore LaRue Coulter and brother Howard Moore. She is survived by her youngest sister, Jacquelyn Prince; numerous nieces and nephews including: Rita R. La Rue, James and Karen La Rue, Howard Moore, Melissa Moore, Walt and Kristine Kalinowsky, Bridgette & Eli Martinez, Jack Kalinowsky and cousin, Kimberly Davis all from the greater Houston/Galveston area; sisters and brothers in-law: Nancy Boyd, Cora and Bobby Wilburn, Dencen and Faye Hall; step-children: John and Connie Hall, Mike and Linda Hall, Melody and Jay Holmes and 7 step-grandchildren and 5 step-great-grandchildren all from the Logansport area.
