Verma Nell Johnson McMillan

A funeral service for Verma Nell Johnson McMillan, 92, will be held on Friday, May 30, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Dr., Bossier City, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Rose-Neath Cemetery in Bossier City. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Officiating the service will be Pastor Calvin Hubbard.

Verma Nell Johnson McMillan died peacefully at her home on Thursday, May 22. 2025. She was born in San Saba, Texas, on September 24, 1932. Verma married William Durward McMillan on March 24, 1948. She was a homemaker until her three daughters were married. She loved decorating, turning her passion into a thriving business as a licensed florist and home decorator. She was greatly admired for her many artistic talents and generous nature. She was a faithful member of Barksdale Baptist Church and was involved in several ministries over the years.

Her family is grateful to Dr. Ted Warren and Dr. Paul Cole for their compassionate care over the many years.

She is survived by daughters, Priscilla McCright and husband, Skip, Nancy Hammons and husband, Johnny, and Deann McCrary (Max); grandchildren, James Kelly Stough and wife, Cheryl, Missy Lea Hammons, John David Hammons and wife, Rhonda, Brandy Stanton, Roman Stanton and wife, Jennifer, Ashlea Guette, and Joseph McCrary and wife, Mallory; great-grandchildren, Sarah Stough, Jacob Hammons, Emily Hammons, Chase Hammons, Jaden Hammons, Stella, Madison, Camen Staton, and Kamryn DeSilva.

Honoring Verma as pallbearers will be Brian Haley, Autry Lowry, James Mercer, Tim Jenkins, Michael McMillan, and Robert McMillan. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons at Barksdale Baptist Church.
