Vera Jean Posey

Funeral services for Vera Jean Posey, 85, will be held on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at 12:30 p.m. at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 200 Carroll St., Shreveport, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery, 4000 Meriwether Rd. in Shreveport. A visitation will be held Tuesday, December 12, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. prior to the funeral at the church. Officiating the service will be Bishop John Albin.

Vera was born April 18, 1938 in Jonesboro, Louisiana to John Paul and Estelle Liles and passed away on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 in Shreveport.

Vera graduated from Jonesboro High School and was a medical transcriptionist for most of her life. She was previously married to Larry Posey (deceased), but was divorced. Vera enjoyed attending her church, recording genealogy, listening to music, dancing, and sewing.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John Paul and Estelle Liles; her brother, Tim (Tracy) Liles; and her sister, Mona Liles Alexander. Left to cherish her memory are her four children, Tracey Carpenter, Karen Parker, LeeAnn Crenshaw, and Larry Posey, Jr.; brother, John Paul Liles, Jr. and his wife, Wanda; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
