A graveside service honoring the life of Vernard "Vernon" George Moore will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at Forest Park Cemetery, 3700 St. Vincent Avenue, Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Dr. David Farmer, pastor at Shreveport First Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Vernard George Moore was born August 10, 1942 in Shreveport, Louisiana and passed away peacefully Friday, January 1, 2021 in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Vernon graduated from C.E. Byrd High School in 1960 before proudly serving our country as a medic in the United States Navy. He started working in the oil and gas industry with Zapata Petroleum and became a consultant after over 20 years. He was also an avid Evangel Eagles and LSU Tigers fan.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, George and Sally Moore; maternal grandparents, Vern and Clara Beach and parents, George A. Moore and Verma Beach Moore Allen.
Left to cherish his memory are his sisters, Ama Sue Moore and Mary Ellen Latsos and husband, Richard; brother, Thermon Moore and Diane; nieces and nephews, Amy Lynn, Kellie, Duke, Renea, Valeria, Karen, Natalie, Sherry, Ashley and Bailon; numerous cousins and other family members and his faithful four-legged companion, Josephine.
Serving Vernon as honorary pallbearers will be Herb Birk, Howard Beach, Richard Beach, Duke Henry, and Bailon Moore.
The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Nikki Boone and Amber Bryan Spencer, his caregivers, and his pastor, Dr. David Farmer for their excellent care and compassion.
The family suggests any memorials may be made to Shreveport First Seventh-day Adventist Church, 6475 Westport Ave, Shreveport, LA 71129, where he was a faithful member for over 20 years.
