Kit was born on March 4, 1933 to James Henderson Carson and Beuna Adams Carson Gunter in Bossier City, Louisiana and passed away on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 in Bossier.
Kit was a Louisiana State Wildlife Enforcement Agent that went "by the book" and adhered strictly to the Code of Wildlife Enforcement Ethics. He would write his own mother a ticket if warranted! He served in the United States Navy during the Korean conflict. Varnum had a burning love for gardening, canning and sharing his bounty with family and friends.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving bonus mother, Aline Louise Carson; brothers, George Joseph "Joe" Carson, David Benjamin "Ben" Carson and Victor Hubert Carson; sister, Marguerite Carson Mills; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Honoring Kit as pallbearers will be James "Kip" Carson, Johnathan "Harmon" Carson, Ben Carson, Jr., and Sgt. Troy Parker. Honorary pallbearers will be Sgt. Wesley Walker and Sgt. Billy Crawford.
