Tula Whitten Hall Pope

Tula Whitten Hall Pope, 90, of Shreveport, Louisiana entered into eternal rest on April 18, 2024. She was born on January 5, 1934, in Logansport, Louisiana to Edward Clayton Whitten and Mary Bell Barrett Whitten. Tula was a sweet lady, and she had a passion for working in her flower gardens.

A visitation will be held from 3:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 19, 2024, located at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Drive in Shreveport. Graveside service honoring Tula will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2024, located at Forest Park West Cemetery, 4000 Meriwether Road in Shreveport. Officiating the service will be Rev. McKee Williams.

Tula was preceded in death by her parents, Clayton and Mary Whitten; first husband, Leslie Hall; second husband, Norman Pope; her companion of 40+ years, Harold Fortenberry; brothers, EJ Whitten and Raymond (Shorty) Whitten; sister, Elaine Whitten; brothers and sister-in-laws, Lloyd and Monteel Hall, Dawson and Betty Hall, Dencen and Faye Hall, Alton and Betty Hall, Bobby and Cora Wilburn, and Betty Jo Whitten. 

Left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Sherry Hall Higdon; son, Darren Pope (Amy); sisters, Maxine Shadoin, Bernice Parker, Laura (Gwinn) Booker, Sharon Doty, and Debra Jacobs (Carl); sister-in-law, Nancy Boyd; along with a host of nieces and nephews.
