A funeral service to celebrate the life of Treva Jo Smith Hernandez, 79, will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Dr., Bossier City, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Rose-Neath Cemetery in Bossier City. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Officiating the service will be Pastor Jessie Colston.
Treva was born on December 8, 1946, to Leon and Mildred Wright in Shreveport, Louisiana, and passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2026 in Arcadia, Louisiana.
Treva was a woman full of life, joy, and personality. During her more than 30 plus years working at Walmart, she met countless people and did just about everything, from greeting customers at the door to working the register and helping wherever she was needed. She loved music, dancing, tending to her garden, crossword puzzles, and curling up with a good book. And everyone who knew her knew her signature drink, a Dr. Pepper with NO ICE every single time. She was sassy, caring, and fearless, the kind of woman who embraced thrills and lived with a spark that made every moment brighter.
Her family remembers countless trips to amusement parks, where Treva rode every ride with fearless excitement and encouraged everyone else to do the same. She even raced in the Powder Puff races “back in the day,” proving she was never afraid to jump in and go full speed. Treva’s bold spirit, her laughter, and the way she loved her people will forever be treasured by those who were lucky enough to know her.
Treva was preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Mildred Wright; spouse, Alfred “Freddie” Hernandez; aunt, Mary Harris; sister, Barbara Kelly; granddaughter, Britni Green and husband, Whitney; and great-granddaughter, Brinlee Green.
Left to cherish her memory are daughters, Tandie Wyatt (Clint) and Blinda Williams (Clif); grandchildren, Karmen Baucom (Josh), Meghan Collins (Colby), and Wyatt Williams; great-grandchildren, Baylee Carr, Jamison Baucom, William Green, Karlie Baucom, and Camden Collins, along with several nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
Honoring Treva as pallbearers will be Wyatt Williams, Brian Wilson, Gene Walker, Randy Hernandez, Josh Baucom, and Colby Collins.
In honor of Treva and the joy she brought to those around her, the family asks that everyone wear blue.
