Travis was born in Bossier City, Louisiana on January 20, 1979. He attended Southwood High School in Shreveport, Louisiana. He enjoyed four-wheeler riding in his spare time with brothers and friends.
Travis worked his way up to CEO of Birmingham Turf prior to his accident. He was a hard worker and loved by all he worked with. Travis was very courageous and had a truly amazing attitude. Those that knew him were the fortunate ones, those that did not, certainly missed out. He loved his God, his family, and friends. He could make everyone laugh and would do anything for you. He never complained and never asked for anything.
Travis had one son, Travis "TJ" Glenn Poston II, which was his world and reason to continue to fight so hard with his lengthy medical conditions. His goal in life was to see his son graduate, which he did in May of 2020 with high honors.
Travis was preceded in death by his grandparents, Virgil and Maymie Dubois and Dee R. and Bille York. He is survived by his only son, Travis Glenn Poston II of Bossier City, Louisiana; his mom, Connie Birmingham and step-dad, Terry Birmingham of Shreveport, Louisiana; his dad, Tommy Poston and step-mom, Rose Poston of Benton, Louisiana; brothers, Tom Poston of Blanchard, Louisiana and Tarriel Poston of Stonewall, Louisiana; step-brothers, Matt Birmingham and wife, Megan of Shreveport, Louisiana and James Smith and wife, Carlon of Benton, Louisiana; nieces, Hannah Poston, Kayley Poston and Evelyn Birmingham; nephews, Colton Poston and Trevor Poston; extended family member, Chad Davis; his beloved dog, Bailey; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
Honoring Travis as pallbearers will be Terry Birmingham, Tom Poston, Tarriel Poston, Chad Davis, Matt Birmingham, Colton Poston, and Troy Oliphint.
The family would like to thank the multitude of medical care professionals over the past 18 years for their care, compassion, devotion, and friendship.
Everyday brought a new battle and test to Travis, but every day he found a way to bring joy to anyone blessed enough to come into contact with him. Pain is no longer, but only the joy within our hearts. Travis is now watching over us, walking with the Lord.
