Travis Jackson "T.J." Lindsey

Travis “T. J.” Lindsey of Shreveport, Louisiana passed away on March 17, 2023 after a sudden illness. He was 87 years old.

He was born Monday, April 1, 1935 in Friendship, Louisiana. He was the son of the late Curtis Henry Lindsey and Artie Marie Caskey Lindsey. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Marc Lindsey and wife, Kay and Billy Raymond Lindsey; brother-in-law, Robert Lee “Sonny” Kidd and brother-in-law, Steve Turner.

Travis graduated from Friendship High School, Friendship, Louisiana. He was a door-to-door milkman for 20 years with Foremost Dairies. He loved working with the disabled. He ran a group home for men in Jonesboro, LA. He loved music and loved to sing and was a long time member of church choir. He was also a member of a Barbershop Quartet in his early years and was always the jokester.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 67 years, Glenda Turner Lindsey; daughter, Toni Lindsey Thomas and husband, Darwin of Shreveport; sons Charles “Chuck” Lindsey of Shreveport and Rick Lindsey and wife, Jackie of Bossier City; eight grandchildren, Alicia Hendricks of Bossier City, Chad Lindsey of Big Bear, California, Haley Baker of Quitman, Matt Lindsey of Jonesboro, Tegan Thomas of Shreveport, Alex Lindsey Smith of Haughton, Dustin Thomas of Keithville and Caitlin “Caty” Lindsey Brignac of Tomball, Texas; 10 great-grandchildren; his sister, Emma Roy Kidd of Gibsland, Louisiana; brothers, Donald Lindsey and wife, Betty of Ruston and Roger Lindsey and wife, Janice of Pensacola, Florida. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Travis will be greatly missed by his family and friends but will live on in our hearts forever.
