Funeral service celebrating the life of Tommy Jay Simmons, 79, will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home 943 Polk St, Mansfield, Louisiana with Bro. Jimmy Price and Rev. Barry Morehead officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Stanley, Louisiana. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home.
Tommy Jay Simmons was born on October 7, 1946, in Mansfield, Louisiana to Clyde W. Simmons and Madge Aunita Johnson Simmons and passed away June 25, 2026, in Mansfield, Louisiana.
Tommie was preceded in death by parents, Clyde and Madge Simmons; brother, Wayne “Butch” Simmons; grandson, Jonathan Clemons.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Judy Simmons; son, Robert Bryan Simmons (Laura); daughters, Susan Christine Mitcham (Randy) and Shelley Jo Denton (John); grandchildren, Robbie Simmons (Wendy), Matthew Simmons, Jude Robbins, Corrie Horn, Darcy Walters, Forrest Wooten, Lauren Clemons, Calli Jo Morelock (Micah), Michael Keith Dugan, Jr. (Taylor), Dustin Cole Dugan (Lidia), and Shyanne Denton; great grandchildren, Trey Simmons, Amberly Simmons, Noah Simmons, Julie Horne, Jackson May, Kollin Mercer (Amanda), Jase Morelock, Breighly Morelock, Edith Dugan, Owen Dugan, Cole Dugan, and Adalynn June Call, with great-great grandchild, Sutton Mercer arriving in August, brother, Mike Simmons (Carolyn); sister, Lynita Yarbrough (George); sister-in-law, Dorothy Simmons.
Honoring Tommy as pallbearers will be Robbie Simmons, Trey Simmons, Michael Dugan Kolin Mercer, Dustin Dugan and Micah Morelock.
Serving as honorary pallbearers are Jude Robbins, Tommy Hall, Joe Craig Fleniken, Ross Hunt and Curits Barber.
Memorials may be made to The American Heart Association or St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
