Thomas David Whitworth

Thomas “Tom or Tommy” David Whitworth, 71, went to meet his Lord and Savior on November 28, 2022. A visitation will be held at Rose-Neath Funeral Home-2500 Southside Drive, Shreveport, LA 71118 on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 beginning at 9:30 a.m. until service time at 11:00 a.m.

Tom was born on April 26, 1951 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Thomas Wilson Whitworth and Jewel Hatchett Whitworth and passed away on Monday, November 28, 2022 in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Tom graduated from Captain Shreve High School and then attended Norton Business College. He worked for many years as inventory manager for Adleta, continuing there until his death. For the most part, his job was his life. He loved his family, and though not a man to display much affection nor speak affectionate words, this love was manifested in his actions, over and over through the years. He also loved the little creatures of nature, and his backyard became a haven for squirrels, birds, etc. Tom was an avid bargain shopper and shared so much with so many. His passing has left a hole in our hearts, but hopefully, in the days and years to come, this will be filled with our memories.

Tom is preceded in death by his parents. Left to cherish his memory is his sister, Martha Taylor and husband, Thomas; nephews, Andrew Taylor and wife, Rachel, Stephen Taylor and wife, Crystal, and William Taylor and wife, Amanda; niece, Jennell Devers and husband, Mathew; three great-nephews and one great-niece; longtime friends, Allen Hunt and wife, Glenda.
