Funeral services for Thomas Whitman Ebarb, 89, will be held on Monday, April 4, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary of the Pines Catholic Church, 1050 W. Bert Kouns Industrial Loop, Shreveport, Louisiana. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery in Zwolle, Louisiana. A visitation will be held Sunday, April 3, 2022 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Officiating the service will be Father Mark Watson. Thomas was born on February 16, 1933 to Fred Ebarb and Mary Emma Meshell Ebarb in Noble, Louisiana and passed away on Thursday, March 31, 2022 in Shreveport. Thomas was a resident of Shreveport and was formerly the Justice of the Peace for Sabine Parish. He was an honorary member of the Knights of Columbus, a member of DAV and VFW. He honorably served in the Korean War Conflict as a combat veteran in the US Army where he was wounded. He enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, hunting and fishing. His favorite entertainment of all was spending time with his grandchildren. They were his pride and joy. He was a member of St. Mary of the Pines Catholic Church. He will be greatly missed by his entire family. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Emma Ebarb; and his four siblings. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 65 years, Rosie Meshell Ebarb; daughters, Rosie Ann of Zwolle, LA, Linda Jean Walters and husband, Fred of Perry, NY, Mary Caroline San Miguel and husband, David of Madison, AL, Margaret Janiga and husband, Steve of Murphy, TX and Christy Stanfield and husband, Seth of Benton, LA; sons, Thomas Jr. of DeRidder, LA, Robert of Sachse, TX, Allen and wife, Lisa of Shreveport, Michael and wife, Amanda of Allyn, WA; 27 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family members. Honoring Thomas as pallbearers will be Marcel EBarb, Jason Ebarb, Matt Walters, David San Miguel, Jeff Janiga, Devon Savage, and Seth Stanfield. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Stanley Bohrer, Hugh Beene, Ernie Janiga and Andres Ebarb. The family would like to express special thanks to the staff of the Overton Brooks VA Medical Center and his special caregiver, Gloria Brokenberry "Tootie" for all her wonderful care, support, compassion and love given to Thomas during his time of need.
