Thomas "Tommy" Laufman Baird, Jr.

Funeral services for Thomas “Tommy” Laufman Baird, Jr., 61, will be held Sunday, October 1, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery, 4000 Meriwether Rd. in Shreveport. A visitation will be held Sunday, October 1, 2023 from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service. 

Tommy was born on May 9, 1962 to Thomas and Norma Baird in Shreveport, Louisiana and passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 in Longview, TX.

Tommy worked at On-Site Secure Shredding Services for many years and became close to his coworkers. He had a passion for art and photography. He was a local Louisiana life photographer. He loved hunting, fishing and golf. He was the 2007 Player of the Year for the Southern Texas PGA. Tommy, loved Shreveport and finding beauty in things that others might not, or capturing a memory from a bygone era, and making that picture come to life, he exhibited his work at the Red River Revel for many years and became close with fellow artists and members, Tommy’s work was sure to make you see our area in a new way that you hadn’t before. 

Tommy is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Norma Baird; his aunts, Susan B. Stutson (Bill), and Patricia Ann Hendricks; and his uncle, Marvin L. King. Left to cherish his memory is his uncles, William Baird and Danny Hendricks (Sandy); cousins, Laura S. Rainer (Kirby), Lisa Stutson, and Nathan Hendricks (Alicia), Cheryl King, Mary King Bray, and Brenda King Cascio; aunt, Annette King; and multiple lifelong friends.

Honoring Tommy as pallbearers will be Reed Rainer, Kirby Rainer, Brian Needham, Alan Mason, Drew Skains and Ross Brunson. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be William Baird and Nathan Hendricks.

Tommy will be greatly missed by his family and friends, but we will forever love and cherish his memory.
