In Loving Memory of Thomas Wayne Spillers Sr. “Tommy”
On the morning of October 29, 2026, the world became a little quieter, the days a little darker, and the hearts of those who loved Thomas Wayne Spillers Sr. known as Tommy, a little heavier.
Tommy peacefully passed away in his sleep. Leaving behind a lifetime of memories, a family who adored him, and a love that even death could never take away.
How do you put into words the life of a man who meant so much? How do you say goodbye to someone whose laughter, stubbornness, smart remarks, and love became such a familiar part of everyday life? The truth is, you don’t. Because a man like Tommy isn’t someone you simply say goodbye to. He’s someone you carry with you forever.
Tommy was a hardworking man who believed that taking care of his family came before taking care of himself. He wasn’t afraid of long days, tired hands, or making sacrifices if it meant the people he loved had what they needed. He was the kind of man who would go without so his family wouldn’t have to. He carried burdens others never saw, made sacrifices that often went unspoken, and gave pieces of himself without expecting anything in return. His love wasn’t always expressed through words. Sometimes it looked like getting up when he was exhausted, working when he didn’t feel like it, or putting his own needs aside to make sure his family was taken care of.
That’s one of the most heartbreaking things about losing Tommy. He spent so much of his life making sure everyone else had what they needed, and now the people he worked so hard for would give anything to give him just one thing in return… More time.
Tommy found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. He loved hunting, fishing, and racing. Whether he was waiting for a deer to step into view, casting a line into the water, or enjoying the rumble of an engine, those were the moments that spoke to his soul.
He also had a personality that couldn’t be mistaken for anyone else’s. That stubborn streak, that unmistakable sense of humor, and those remarks that could make you laugh even when you wanted to be mad at him. Those little things, once so ordinary are now the memories his family would give absolutely anything to experience just one more time.
As a husband Tommy leaves behind his wife, Martha Sue Ashleigh Spillers. Together, they shared a life filled with love, laughter, challenges, and memories that will forever be treasured. Though their time together ended far too soon, the love they shared was never measured by the years they had together, but by the memories they made and the pieces of themselves they left in each other’s hearts.
As a father, Tommy leaves behind a love that will continue to live through his children Rozlynn Maree Spillers, Thomas Wayne Spillers Jr. and his stepson, Christopher Kaiden Tillman. In their laughter, their personalities, their stubbornness, and the little pieces of him they carry, his memory will remain. There will be birthdays, milestones, and ordinary days when his absence will be felt deeply, but his children will always have the stories, memories, and sacrifices of a father who worked so hard to give them what he could.
As a brother and uncle, Tommy leaves behind memories that will forever be cherished by his brother Christopher G. Spillers Sr. his sister in law Tiffanie Spillers and his nieces and nephew Amber Spillers, Zoey Spillers, and Christopher G. Spillers Jr. Though his place in their lives can never be filled, the love, laughter, and memories they shared will remain a part of them forever.
Tommy was preceded in death by his father Loice G. Spillers and his mother Betty L. Spillers.
The hardest part of losing Tommy isn’t just saying goodbye. It’s all the little things that will never happen again.
There will be an empty space where he should be, a silence where his laughter once lived, and a thousand moments when his family will wish they could turn back time.
The woods will grow quiet, the waters will settle, and the engines will fall silent. But the love and memories he leaves behind will echo for a lifetime.
His hands may finally be at rest, but the love and sacrifices of those hands will be felt for generations.
You spent your life giving your all to the ones you loved. May you finally have the peace you always deserved.
Forever loved.
Forever missed.
Forever our Tommy.
