Graveside services for Thomas Jefferson "Jeff" Gill, Jr., 98, will be held on Thursday, March 11, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Stonewall Cemetery in Stonewall, Louisiana. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Chaplain Robert Baker. Jeff was born on July 2, 1922 in Glenmora, Louisiana to Thomas Jefferson Gill, Sr. and Lillian Gilmer Gill and passed away on March 5, 2021 in Shreveport, Louisiana. He served in the Navy from 1941-1946 during WWII. He was a lifetime resident of Stonewall, Louisiana working as a dairyman and the U.S. Postal Service retiring in 1984 after 30 years of service. He had a passion for hunting, fishing and gardening which he loved sharing these pursuits with his children and grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Beth Spilker Gill, six siblings, James, Stamps, Elliott, Fred, Billy and Martha; and two sons-in-law, Dennis and Kenny. Left to cherish his memory is his son, Robert Gill and wife, Susan, daughters, Sylvia Redding, Beverly Roy and husband, Rickey; grandchildren, Amanda Disman, Eric Disman, Robert Gill, Joseph Gill, Jewell Lites, Ken Redding; and six great-grandchildren. Honoring Jeff as pallbearers will be Henry Richardson, Harry Richardson, Rick Spilker, David Spilker, David Tucker and Tommy Lites. Honorary pallbearers will be all of his grandsons. The family would like to express special thanks to the Guest House Rehabilitation Center and Christus Hospice.
