Tommy was born on April 25, 1948, to Henry T. and Carrie Sims Hampton in Dermott, Arkansas, and passed away on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at his home in the Shreveport-Blanchard area.
Tommy was a proud graduate of Springhill High School, where he began shaping a life filled with music, faith, and family. As a teenager, he lent his voice to a gospel quartet at Calvary Baptist Church in Cullen, a reflection of the deep spiritual roots that guided him throughout his life.
In 1973, he married the love of his life, Sue “Ms. Kitty” Brown. Together, they built a home filled with warmth and laughter, raising three children in the Shreveport-Blanchard area. Tommy was an electrician by trade—steady, hardworking, and always willing to lend a hand.
More than anything, Tommy was a good son, brother, husband, and grandfather. His love for his family ran deep, mirrored by his devotion to North Shreve Baptist Church, where he worshipped faithfully with his loved ones since the early 1980s.
Tommy had a lifelong passion for sports. He was a talented baseball player and coach, and he remained a loyal fan of LSU, the New York Yankees, and the Dallas Cowboys. Whether on the field or in the stands, he found joy in the game and camaraderie in the teams he loved.
Tommy’s life was a testament to faith, dedication, and quiet strength. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, Henry T. Hampton, and Carrie Sims Hampton; sister, Nona Vowell, and brother, Ken Hampton. He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Sue “Ms. Kitty” Hampton; daughter, Sarah D’Ann Schreck, and husband, Jeff of Lynn Haven, FL; sons, TJ of Shreveport, LA, and Ty and wife, Chantel of Bossier City, LA; 10 grandchildren; 3 grandchildren-in-love; 3 great-grandchildren; sister; Dianne Ketchem and husband, Larry of Texarkana, and his sweet fur baby, Charlie.
Honoring Tommy as pallbearers will be Wade Hampton, Kevin Hampton, Caiden Hampton, Blake Hampton, Todd Greis, and Bubba Ryan. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons, Sgt. Cody Schreck, Aaron Hampton, Robbie Hampton, SPC Aiden Hampton, and grandson-in-love, Blake Morris.
