Thomas Joshua Green

Thomas Joshua “Josh” Green completed his work for the Lord and Savior October 31, 2024 just 10 days after his 44th birthday. Joshua’s faith shown through his steadfast belief that God had a purpose for taking him through the illnesses he suffered his entire life. He continued to make plans for the future, even when doctors offered no hope for a complete recovery, and he became very tired as time passed.

Thomas Joshua is survived by his wife, Melissa Ann Tyler Green; son, Aiden Wayne Green; brothers, Adam Lamar Green, William Jacob Green (Natosha), and William Oliver Wise. His positive upbeat presence will be missed by his aunts, Rhonda “Aunty” Campbell Cates (Eddy), Linda Campbell Webb (Roger), great aunts, Emma Jean Hagar and Mary Ruth Luetkemeyer; special friends, Dannis and Denise Rogers, along with a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.

This black-haired boy was born on October 21, 1980 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Imagine our astonishment when we saw a perfectly blue baby! Yes, he had a rare heart condition which would affect his entire existence for his entire life. Thomas Joshua is preceded in death by his dad, Thomas Earl Green; his mother, Glenda Faye Green Wise; paternal grandparents, Thomas Marshall Green and Mary Jean Allen; maternal grandparents, Reverend William Amos Campbell and Claudette Cecilia Wiley.

Josh, as he was known in his early years, was born to drive. He would play for hours driving toy cars and trucks, right by himself. This led to a love of all things with wheels from his racing days with dad serving as pit crew; to becoming a race car driver; to his dream job of truck driving; to 4-wheeler rides with Aiden. Nothing could keep him still for long. Thomas Joshua “Wildchild” Green was a unique individual who will be sorely missed by those left behind, but we are blessed to know we'll meet him again.

Honoring Josh as pallbearers will be Adam Green, Jacob Green, Austin Tyler, Mike Prince, Brodie Millet, and Sebastian Montellano. Honorary pallbearers will be Darren Craig and Benjamin Webb.
