Funeral services for Thomas Arnold Clarkson, 86, will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Plain Dealing Cemetery in Plain Dealing, Louisiana. A visitation will be held Saturday, July 2, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. until the start of the service. Officiating the service will be Rev. Al Sale assisted by Rev. Bob Dyal. Officiating at the graveside in Plain Dealing will be Rev. Samuel Mason. The Honor Guard will be graveside as well.
Thomas was born on March 25, 1936 in Canton, Ohio to Robert E. Clarkson and Helen L. Mathie and passed away on June 25, 2022 in Shreveport, Louisiana.
He was a resident of Shreveport and had a B.A. Degree in Business. He married his wife, Carolyn J. Clarkson on February 5, 1956 and was married for 66 wonderful years. He served in the Air Force at Barksdale Air Force Base as the Air Force Police. He also served in the Korean War stateside. He founded and was active in the Faith Bible Missionary Church in Shreveport.
Thomas is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jack E. Clarkson, Edward Clarkson; and sister, Betty Dyal. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Carolyn; son, Bob Clarkson and wife, Geneva; daughters, Winona Denny, Juanita Duvall J.D.; grandchildren, Chad Clarkson, Kristen Fruge, Christopher Newhouser, Amelia Swift, Nathan Campbell, Grace Duvall and Carolyn Steins; great-grandchildren, Ezra, Olivia, Elijah, Josiah Fruge, Elsie Newhouser, and Anna and Joshua Swift; and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members and friends.
Honoring Thomas as pallbearers will be Chad Clarkson, Christopher Newhouser, Nathan Campbell, Gary Humfrey, Ed Bradshaw, and Eli Dominque. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Mark Cerasuolo and Sergio Hernandez.
