Tom Brown was born in Providence, Rhode Island on February 27, 1954 and left this world peacefully on June 3, 2025. Tom married the love of his life, Denise Brown, on November 10, 1972 and soon after had two boys, Richard and Mark Brown. He lived an honorable life with exemplary characteristics of strength, wisdom and courage. After selflessly serving his country for nine years, Tom retired from the United States Army and found his way to Stonewall, Louisiana. He was no stranger to hard work and spent many years working at Atlas Oil Refinery where he sustained serious injuries and went into medical retirement in 2000. Though his life was forever changed, he remained to be a pillar of strength for his family, especially after the loss of his son, Richard – whom he was immensely proud of for following in his footsteps and serving in the army. He was never ashamed to bend a knee in prayer, for he was a deeply God-fearing man.
Tom found joy in many things in life. He cherished his sacred motorcycle rides on Richard’s bike, always feeling as though Richard was right alongside him. He also had a deep passion for writing music and playing his guitar, whether in his office or out on the front porch on a beautiful day. Tom’s garage will always be a special place, as he was always outside working on something – usually fixing or building for someone else.
Thomas Brown is survived by his wife, Denise Brown; son, Mark Brown; grandchildren, Shelby Brown (Dalton Brook), Emmaleigh Brown; great-grandchild, Anna Brook; siblings, Bill Brown (Kathy), Gail Williams, Jim Brown (Margie), Lynne Adams, Steven Brown, and Robin Brown. Tom was preceded in death by his parents; son, Richard Brown; grandson, Christopher Brown; and sister, Dawn Harrop.
Tom Brown will be deeply loved and missed by all who knew him. His kindness, humor, and strong spirit touched the hearts of many. Precious moments and cherished memories with him will remain in our hearts forever. His legacy of strength, generosity, and unwavering love will continue to inspire us everyday.
