Theresa Mae Curry

Funeral services for Theresa Mae Curry, 83, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 16, 2026, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Goldonna Cemetery in Goldonna, Louisiana. A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the start of the service. Officiating the service will be Gerald Huddleston.

Theresa was born January 18, 1943 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi to Joseph Edward and Maggie Mae McGee, and passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2026 in Monroe, Louisiana.

A dedicated caregiver to all, Theresa was deeply committed to helping others throughout her life. Alongside her husband, Leonard Ray Curry, she raised five children, providing them with a foundation of unconditional love and support. A long-time resident of Goldonna, she relocated to Shreveport in 1989. Theresa found great joy in cultivating her garden and exploring her extensive collection of cookbooks, though her greatest fulfillment always came from her family. To the world, she was a mother; to her family, she was the world.

Theresa is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Edward and Maggie Mae McGee; husband, Leonard Ray Curry; sons, James Leonard "Bronc" Curry and Baby Curry; sisters, Mary Posey and Faye McCullough; brothers, Berno McGee, Zeno McGee, Leo McGee, and Pat McGee.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, Joey Curry (Susan); daughters, Stacy McDowell (Michael), Amanda Fuller and Miranda McGee; grandchildren, TJ Curry (Celena), Erica Curry, Bridget Curry (Jane), Alex McDowell (Denelle), Victoria Lewandowski (Alex), Nikki Sikes (Austin),  Terra Fuller, Tessa Fuller, JJ Rushing, Kieran Grimshaw (Monica), Kimmie Watson, and Marcus Watson; great-grandchildren, Brianna Curry, Tristan Curry, Zane Quire, Dacoda Quire, Jason Quire, Gage Robertson, Ronnie Robertson, Amayha McDowell, Dylan McDowell, Violet Lewandowski, Alayna Sikes, and Evelyn Lewandowski; sister, Elizabeth Doris McGee; and numerous nieces and nephews.

We would also like to give an extra special thanks to Ouachita Health & Rehab and to the Hospice team, Elara Caring, for the outstanding care they gave our mother during her stay.
