Theresa Llorens Roque passed away peacefully at her home in Shreveport, Louisiana, on December 24, 2021, at the age of 96. She was born on September 11, 1925, in Melrose, Louisiana. She married James Henry Roque, and from this union, five children were born: Mary Louise, James Rawlin, Clyde Daniel, Marvin Gerard, and Patrick Roque. She was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Roque, of 67 years; her parents, Alfred Llorens Sr. and Louise Jones Llorens; daughter, Mary Louise LaCour Balthazar; brothers, Manuel, Jerry Alfred, Eddie James and Edwin Llorens; sisters, May Louise, Lucille, Marie Llorens Roque, and Mabel Llorens Turnbull. Left to cherish her memory are her children, James Rawlin Roque (Margie), Clyde Roque (Josephine), Marvin Roque (Clair), and Patrick Roque (Angelica). She was a loving grandmother to 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. On Friday, December 31, 2021, at St. Augustine Church, 2262 LA-484, Natchez, LA, a viewing will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and funeral services for Theresa will be held at 10:00 a.m. The burial will be held at St. Augustine Church Cemetery. Officiating the service will be Father Charlie Ray. Theresa graduated from St. Joseph Elementary school and attended St. Matthew High School in Melrose. She was a stay-at-home mother until her children graduated from high school and began working as a cafeteria manager at Notre Dame High School. Her hobbies included sewing, baking, and playing the piano. Theresa's life was centered around her family, where she spent most of her life rearing her children and caring for her grandchildren and husband in his later years. Theresa was a devout Catholic and active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where she served as a lector and choir member for many years. She was a long time member of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church. She was also a member of the Christian Mother's Organization of St. Augustine Church in Isle Brevelle, La. She will be truly missed by all those who have been touched by her lifelong gift of caring for others. The family requests that all people attending the service wear a mask.
