Mansfield, LA - Funeral services honoring the life of Theda V. Mitchell, 84, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 7, 2018, at Rose-Neath Chapel in Mansfield, LA with Rev. Bruce Mitchell and Rev. Richard Hale officiating. Burial will follow at Warren Cemetery in Fisher, LA. The family will receive friends at Rose-Neath Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 7, 2018, from 9:00 a.m. until service time.
Theda was born December 3, 1933 in Fisher, LA to John and Zarah Law Hayes and entered into rest on November 3, 2018. She graduated from University of Southwestern Louisiana and taught for 25 years for the DeSoto Parish schools. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Mansfield. She was a wonderful sister, mother, grandmother, friend, and teacher to many.
Preceding Theda in death were her parents; her husband, E.J. Mitchell; and two brothers, James Hayes and Bobby Hayes.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her sons, Jerry K. Mitchell of Grand Cane, LA, Elwin C. Mitchell of Bossier City, LA; daughters, Brenda Gayle Mitchell of Mansfield, LA, Sandra Annette Hale and husband Scott of Natchitoches, LA; sisters, Lolette Elaine Mitchell of Robeline, LA, Agatha Sue Ashby and husband Jim of Blanchard, LA; grandchildren, J.R. Mitchell, John Mitchell, Andrew Mitchell, Kevin Mitchell, Kellye Speer, Matt Hale, Joe Hale, Amy Hale; and five great grandchildren.
Honoring Theda as pallbearers will be Jason Speer, Matt Hale, Andy Mitchell, J.R. Mitchell, Joe Hale, and John Mitchell. Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin Mitchell, Jerry Mitchell and Scott Hale.
