Tex Sherman Hines

A Memorial Service honoring the life of Tex Sherman Hines,77, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall Street, Shreveport, Louisiana. Tex Sherman Hines was born June 25, 1944 in Durant, Oklahoma and passed away Thursday, January 13, 2022 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Tex proudly served in the United States Army. He worked for many years and retired from the Kansas City Southern Railway Company. An avid outdoorsman, he especially enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was a member of the Friendship Hunting Club. He is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Addison Rae Summers; mother, Iva Jestice; sister, Ruth Hines; and brothers, Lucien Hines and wife, Wanda, and Tim Hines. Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 41 years, Gloria Fonville Hines; daughters, Deborah Barbree Pence and husband, Don, Stephanie Barbree Summers and husband, Chris; siblings, Patty Janning and Toney Hines and wife, Wanda; grandchildren, Rusty Lee Pence and wife, Sara, Taylor Ryan Norbeck, Amanda Pence Shourd and husband, David, Alice Carol Pence, Nicholas Ryan Fulco, Peyton LeighAnne Kelemen and husband, Kade, Paige Catherine Pence and fiancé, Parker Daniels; and great-grandchildren, Adaline and Beth Pence and Colton Shourd. The family would like to express their sincerest gratitude to their friends and family for the kind expressions of sympathy. The love shown has given the family great comfort during this difficult time. It is deeply appreciated and will forever be remembered.
