Funeral services for Teri Lynn Stewart Echols, 68, will be held on Friday, May 9, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Forest Park East, 3700 St. Vincent Ave. in Shreveport. A visitation will be held Thursday, May 8, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Officiating the service will be Pastor Chad Hardbarger.
Teri was born on March 3, 1957, in Shreveport, Louisiana to Robert and Margaret Stewart and passed away Saturday, May 3, 2025, at home in Shreveport.
Teri was a resident of Shreveport where she grew up in Sunset Acres. She graduated from Woodlawn High School in 1975 and attended Louisiana Tech for two years studying journalism and photography. She married her first husband, Robert Bounds, in the early 80s and had Jami and Jodi. In 1989, she married Claude Echols and later adopted Mandy Maldonaldo.
Teri grew up working for her father’s company, Red River Supply. She often joked that she mostly played on the phones and hung out with the guys in the warehouse. She worked at the Alamo Car Rental Company with Wendy for a few years as well. Later, she stayed home and became a homemaker raising her three girls and their friends.
Teri loved animals, particularly German Shepherds and horses, as well as rodeos, concerts and the beach. She was always the life of the party. She was truly one-of-a-kind! The most important thing in her life, though, was her family, the girls, and her grandchildren. They meant everything to her.
Teri was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Margaret Stewart; and daughter, Mandy Maldonaldo. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 36 years, Claude Echols; daughters Jami Baker and her husband, Bryan, and Jodi Bounds; grandchildren, Shyan Maldonaldo, Landon Baker, Braydon and Kaydon Cummings; sister, Linda Stewart Flores and husband, Vince; niece, Donna Lynn George; best friends, Woman, Finn, Stic, and Wendy; and numerous cousins and extended family.
Honoring Teri as pallbearers will be Landon Baker, Kyle Webb, Larry Cummings, Wesley Shepherd, Taylor Shepherd, Andrew Holland, Dustin Myers, Chris Reynolds, and Jimmy Douglas. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Braydon and Kaydon Cummings.
