Funeral services for Tammy Marie Nicholson Gibney, 62, will be held on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at 3:30 p.m. at Cypress Baptist Church, 4701 Palmetto Rd., Benton, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Rose-Neath Cemetery in Bossier City, Louisiana. A visitation will be held Monday, September 30, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Bossier City, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Reverend John Fream.
Tammy was born on November 28, 1961 to John P. Nicholson, Sr. and Agnes Louise Nicholson in Hampton, Virginia and passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2024 in Tyler, Texas.
Tammy's journey began in Bossier City, Louisiana, where she would later graduate from Bossier High School in 1980. Her commitment to helping others was evident throughout her career in the medical field, where she made a difference in the lives of many.
Tammy's life was filled with love and joy, particularly in the cherished moments she spent with her daughter, Chelsea, and her beloved family. As a proud grandmother and great-grandmother, her heart was forever entwined with the lives of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were her greatest treasures. She will truly be missed by all those that knew and loved her.
Tammy was preceded in death by her mother, Agnes Louise Nicholson and her beloved daughter, Chelsea Marie Gibney Askew.
She is survived by her son-in-law, Austin Askew; grandsons, Carter Askew, and Ryder Askew; great-grandchildren, Ember Woods Askew, and Paxton Reign Askew; dad, John P. Nicholson, Sr.; brothers, John P. Nicholson, Jr. and wife, Michelle, and Robert Michael Nicholson; sister, Cynthia Marie Tougas and husband, Morris along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Honoring Tammy as pallbearers will be Michael Ballard, Nicholas White, John Nicholson, Mike Nicholson, Cole Marbut and Eddie Fouch. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Kristen Marbut, Ashley Bounds, Kathryn Cloud, Tara Nelson. Sharley Barrow and Shelby Bryan.
The family suggests memorials and donations may be made to Carter Askew and Ryder Askew at Austin Askew, 4111 Courtland Way, Benton, Louisiana 71006.
